Donald’s years of experience working closely with clients means each garden is individual and tailor made specifically for your requirements. Remember that investment in your garden will not only give you years of pleasure, it will increase the ecological diversity of your garden and add to the value and desirability of your property.
After fifteen years working as a magazine art director, for some of the best magazine glossies in London, Donald Ingam decided to follow his lifelong passion for gardening and combine it with his strong design background and study to become a garden designer.
Since graduating with distinction from the World renowned English Gardening School, at the Chelsea Physic Gardens, projects have ranged from large country gardens and small urban courtyards. In the past ten years, Donald has enjoyed each client’s individual plot, with their own distinct characteristics, and transforming them into a welcoming and practical space.
His portfolio of work is not limited to one style but includes a wide range of schemes. His design philosophy is that your outer space should carefully integrate your house into your garden and your garden into it is surroundings. Careful selection of plants, environmental impact, and materials appropriate to the character and location of each individual site ensures this. Designs have strong lines, textural planting and something very personal to each individual's requirements. As an experienced gardener, Donald is constantly trialling new plants and combinations to enable him to give clients exciting planting schemes that will work for them.
